May Favourites

Time for another favourites, this is what I have been loving in the month of May, have you been loving any of the same things as me? If not what has been your favourite thing?

Last month I featured a brow favourite and I will do this month as well. I decided to up my brow game and as I was using high end products before I wanted to find something cheaper. I was using the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe on my eyelids one day and it was then that I saw it was the perfect colour to use to fill in my eyebrows. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it because my brows looked a little bit darker and I wasn't sure if it looked good because I have blonde hair but the more I wore it the more I liked it and I haven't stopped using it since. It's such a nice and cheap option and I'm so glad I found it.

I absolutely adore this lipstick, it's the L'oreal Color Riche in Julianne's Nude, I think the colour is beautiful and it's the perfect 'your lips but better' shade. I've been wearing this to school everyday and it's gorgeous, it's so subtle but it makes such a difference to the makeup I'm wearing and definitely completes the whole look. As all the other lipsticks in this range the formula is incredibly creamy but it's not long lasting and you do have to re-apply throughout the day which is understandable because it is very creamy and moisturising.

Next is the Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in Golden Sugar, I honestly wanted this for so long but it was always sold out on the Superdrug website and one night I happened to be browsing and saw that it was in stock and I ordered it straight away, needless to say it was sold out the next day so I got it just in time! The shades are beautiful and the pigmentation is amazing, I love it. It's sort of a dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes and for £8 you cannot go wrong with this palette!

Okay so the Zoella Soak Opera is a product I've had in my cupboard for a while but haven't used because I have so many other shower and bath products to use up. This smells exactly like everything else in the Zoella range which is great because I love the smell, It's a really fruity and floral smell and it's really girly and feminine which is right up my street because I don't love using strong or really sweet scents when I have a bath or shower as it's too much. I also really love the packaging, it's so cute and you can definitely tell that it's something that Zoe designed.

Lastly is the Mac Saigon Summer lipstick, this is the perfect orange shade and it's perfect for the summer time. It's a soft peachy orange with gold shimmer running through it, although when you put it on your lips it doesn't look shimmery it looks more glossy. It's warm toned and is very flattering on my skin tone. It's not the most out-there orange I own, it's very muted and sort of subtle but nonetheless it it gorgeous and definitely one I'd miss if I didn't have in my collection.

Beauty Bits and Bobs Haul

Over the last month or so I've done quite a bit of shopping, this haul is a mixture of pretty much everything so here is what I got:

Starting off with beauty, I got the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in True Ivory because I had ran out and I absolutely adore this foundation for the summer time as it makes your skin so glowy. I also got another Rimmel Brow Gel because I've been obsessed with it since I first tried it and I already had to pick up a back up ready for when I run out. Next I got Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in Golden Sugar which is one of the most beautiful blush palette's I've seen and it was sold out online for ages in Superdrug so when it finally came back in stock I had to get it! Then I got the L'Oreal Glam Bronzer in 06, I got this in a 3 for 2 offer in Boots and I really like it so far. One thing I had to get were lipsticks, my favourite lipstick's at the moment are the L'Oreal Color Riche ones and I got the shades 430 and 640 to add to my collection. I also picked up the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Seductive Pink, the Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balm in Voluptuous Pink and the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Pink Brandy, all of which I love so far and am definitely going to buy more shades.

I went on a jewellery hype and I bought a few pieces of jewellery. I got matching a Daisy Necklace and Earrings from River Island. Then I got a Mini Triangle Necklace from Primark which is two necklaces joined together. I also got a Larger Triangle Shaped Necklace which is blue and is also from Primark. I then picked up a couple of pairs of sunglasses, again from Primark because you can't have too many pairs of cheap sunglasses! I then picked up the sort of Aztec-y Duvet Cover Set which quite a few people have but I really like it and definitely brightens up my room with the spring colours. The last thing I bought was the Hollister Malaia Perfume, I went to America a couple of years ago and my mum bought this and ever since I've been like I need that perfume it smells delicious so when I went into Hollister and saw that it was reduced from £39 to £20 I had to get it, such a bargain!

Hollister Malaia Perfume | Review

I doubt many people reading this will have heard of this perfume because I swear hardly anyone shops in Hollister anymore (I don't anyway and if I do it's for the perfumes/body sprays and maybe loungewear) but anyway I have been loving this perfume for about 3 years but only bought my first bottle in April I think. The reason I didn't get it before was because I didn't want to spend nearly £40 on a perfume but it was ok because my mum bought it so if I wanted to use it I could. When I bought it though, it was reduced to £20 which is a bargain, although I hope it doesn't mean that they're discontinuing it! I actually have a story about this as well, we went on holiday to Spain one year and my mum wanted to take it with her but as you can see in the photo is has the squeezy top thing (I don't know what it's called) but the whole thing leaked and the pressure of the airplane basically sucked out all the perfume, I guess the only good thing was that the hotel room smelt delicious for the whole holiday! Even now when I use the suitcase I can still smell it and it happened 2-3 years ago!

Okay, so enough of the rambling and onto the actual review; the main notes of the perfume are Basil, Lavender and Vanilla Bean and it's such a beautiful fresh scent. It's meant to remind you of  'the essence of crisp water, sheer florals, and soft woody tones. The allure of the ocean and the California sun.' and it does, it just smells of holiday! If you walk past Hollister and love the smell this is similar to that although not quite, I mean it's the closest you're gonna get! It's the perfect scent for the summer and I think I will be wearing it everyday for the next 3-4 months! The only thing I don't like is that it only lasts about 3 hours, but it's such a strong smell and whenever I wear it my friends always ask me what I'm wearing which is nice because then at least I know I smell good haha!

I think the bottle is really cute and I do love the squeezy thing although I won't be taking it on holiday with me unless I decant it into a travelo or something because I don't want the same thing happening to me as it did my mum!

The Liebster Award #2

This is the second Liebster Award, I really like doing these because I feel like the questions are questions I wouldn't answer in regular blog posts. I was nominated by Sophie Helman for this set of questions.

QUESTIONS

1. What job would you like to have long term in the future?
I would love to carry on blogging and be a full time blogger but I can't depend on that, I don't know what I wanna do with my life yet, I just haven't found that job or career path yet.

2. What do you enjoy doing on a lazy day?
I love chilling in bed watching Netflix with chocolate and ice cream and popcorn, perfect!

3. What is your favourite holiday you've been on?
It would have to be when I went to Florida, we went for two weeks and it was filled with Disney, Water Parks and Shopping, it was the best!

4. Who is your celebrity crush?
Who else would it be but Cara Delevingne, she is my definition of perfect, I absolutely love her.

5. What is something you would tell your younger self?
I'm only 16 but I would just say to not care what other people think of you and to be who you wanna be because if you're trying so hard to be someone you're not you'll end up losing yourself.

6. What is your favourite season of the year?
It has to be summer, purely for the fact I can wear shorts and I can go to the beach and have ice creams. I love going out with my friends and just sitting in the park chatting and sunbathing. I don't have to wear coats and I don't have to layer my clothing to keep warm, it's just the season that requires the least effort.

7. What song is your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure songs are the older ones, some of my favourites are Wham - Wake Me up Before you Go-Go, The Knack - My Sharona, Spice Girls - Wannabe and some of Miley Cyrus' old music from her first album.

8. Do you have a goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the year?
I have a goal in mind, but I don't really want to say what it is incase I don't reach it but I really hope I do because I don't think it's an unrealistic target.

9. If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
So many people to choose from, I'd love to meet the One Direction boys because I've loved and been obsessed with them right from X-Factor, I'd love to meet the Beckhams and Kardashian/Jenner clan. I also think it would have been really cool to meet someone like Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn.

10. What is something that motivates you?
I set myself targets and goals to reach in a certain amount of time and if I reach that goal I will allow myself to buy maybe a high-end makeup product that I've wanted for a while or something else that I've wanted to get for a while and that really motivates me to do things as I know I'll be rewarded at the end of it.

11. If you could change one thing you've done in the past, what would it be?
I wish that when I started blogging last summer I kept going with it instead of quitting because I love doing it and sharing my thoughts and stuff.

NOMINATIONS

1. What's your favourite makeup brand and why?
2. What's your favourite makeup product from that brand?

Drugstore Makeup Starter Kit

LIP PRODUCTS: Starting off with lips because they are my favourite out of a whole makeup look, so I am a lover of lipsticks and I couldn't pick just one formula so I've got a couple of choices, obviously if you're starting off you don't need one of each so don't feel like you have to get every single one. First is the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks, these are some of the nicest formulas and there is a colour for everyone in the collection. My favourites are 05 and 107. Next is the L'Oreal Color Riche lipsticks and again the formula of these are incredible. I also really like the Red and Nude collection of these and Blake's Red is my favourite shade. The Revlon Lip Butters are incredible, they're perfect for a natural look, maybe for school or something, my favourite shade is Berry Smoothie. My favourite lipglosses of all time are the Tanya Burr Lipglosses, the are not sticky at all and the pigmentation is incredible. I love every single shade but I have to say at the moment I am loving Picnic in the Park.

BASE PRODUCTS: The primer I have chosen to go in the starter kit is the Maybelline Baby Skin, I really like this and it's a dupe for the Benefit Porefessional which is great. My favourite drugstore foundation is the Rimmel Match Perfection, it's a light foundation which can be built up to add extra coverage and it's quite long lasting. I couldn't choose my favourite concealer so here's two, the Collection Lasting Perfection is great for covering up blemishes as opposed to the Rimmel Wake Me Up which is better for using under the eyes as it has tiny bits of shimmer running through it. To set all of that I like using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder, it stops you face looking shiny and it helps prevent your foundation and concealer from sliding off your face.

EYE PRODUCTS: The cream eyeshadow that I love and always go back to is the Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze, it's a beautiful shimmery bronze shade which is perfect for your everyday makeup. The eyeshadow palette I love is the Makeup Revolution Essential Shimmers Palette, I mean all the Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palettes are beautiful but this one is my favourite. The eyeliner I love is the Topshop liquid liner, the applicator is quite long but really thin which makes it really easy to create the perfect line. The mascara I have chosen is the Maybelline The Falsies mascara, it honestly is one of my holy grail mascara's, I love it way more than a lot of the higher end ones, it's amazing.

FACE PRODUCTS: These are the finishing touching products, they aren't all really necessary but I love using them. The eyebrow product I have gone for is a Maybelline Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe, you may think this is weird as it's supposed to be used as a eyeshadow but I think the colour would suit anyone with dark blonde or light brown hair. A brow gel I am loving is the Rimmel Brow This Way. The blusher I love is the Makeup Revolution Blushing Heart in Peachy Pink Kisses, it's the perfect natural blush shade that can also be used as a highlighter for the top of your cheekbones. You do have to be careful applying this though as it is quite shimmery and it's very easy to accidently apply too much. The bronzer I have chosen is The Body Shop Honey Bronzer, it's a very natural bronzer but it's incredible at bronzing up your complexion and making you look like you have a tan. The highlighter I love it the Superdry Liquid Highlighter, it's a bit like the Benefit High Beam which is great because it's a cheaper product and it does nearly the same thing.

Iconic 3 & Essential Shimmers | Review

A couple months back I made an online order for a makeup brand I had never tried before, that was Makeup Revolution. I knew from reading so many reviews that I had to get at least one eyeshadow palette and I couldn't choose between the Iconic 3 and the Essential Shimmers so I just got both as they're so cheap. I got Essential Shimmers because everyone talks about it and I've seen some nice eye looks created with this palette, and I got Iconic 3 because it's meant to be a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3 which I really want.

I'll talk about Essential Shimmers first because it's probably my favourite out of the two, I definitely prefer more neutral/copper shades rather than pink toned ones so I knew I would love this. All the colours in this look very similar but they all go so well together and they compliment each other perfectly which is great because it means that you can create a lot more looks to go with this palette. The Essential Shimmers palette is the one at the bottom of the photo and from left to right my favourite shades are 4, 5 and 8.

I'm not really sure why I wanted to try this palette apart from the fact it's a dupe for the Naked 3 palette, but I'm not so into pink toned eyeshadows, I much prefer neutral brown/copper shades because they compliment my skin tone and they're like my comfort blanket when it comes to makeup. This palette is the one at the top of the photo and from left to right my favourite shades are 5, 7 and 8.

The only helpful thing about those silly little brushes that come in these palettes is that you can use them to swatch the colours onto your arms without using your fingers, I mean it's not necessary but that's the reason why I keep all those brushes! Does anyone else do that or is it just me?

May Wishlist

That's another month gone! I think I say this every month but I can't believe how quick this year is going, it's been 5 months since Christmas and it feels like it was just the other day!

The first thing I have been lusting over is the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, recently I have heard so much about this and I just need to see what the fuss is about, I love the packaging and the wand looks like nothing I've ever seen before!

Next is the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation which is a fairly new release, I've tried and loved sheer glow and I want to see if I love this one just as much.

I have pretty curly eyelashes anyway so this next thing I'm lusting over is quite unnecessary but it is the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers, for ages I have wanted to try these and I want to see why everyone Ioves them so much and the difference it would make to my eyelashes which are already quite curly.

When this came out I instantly knew if was my favourite of the three beauty bags by Zoella. The Just Say Yes Beauty Bag is gorgeous, it's pink and rose gold and I just love it.

Another rose gold thing I'm lusting over is the GHD Rose Gold hairdryer and straightener Set, I'm not someone who straightens or used heat on their hair everyday but I just think these would be a great thing to have. I am a sucker for rose gold and if there's something with rose gold on it I have to have it!
