April Favourites

Another month gone, which means it's time for another monthly favourites. This month has basically consisted of revising since exams start in May and trying to fit in writing posts around my revision schedule. It's been a busy month but I'm just looking forward to when exams are over and I have 11 weeks off school to relax before I start college.

I think I put the Naked 2 palette in my January Favourites which was the second ever blog post I wrote, but this time I haven't been using it so much for eyeshadow but I have been using it to fill in my eyebrows, there is one shade called Tease which I have really liked as a brow colour. I think I saw someone on Twitter say that they have been using it in their brows so I decided to try it and I love it. I do also use it with the Benefit gimme brow which I featured in last month's favourites just to set my eyebrows in place.

My next favourite is Makeup Revolution's Blushing Heart in Peachy Pink Kisses, this is a peachy pink toned blush with lots of shimmer running through it. I think the lightest shade in this is perfect for the tops of my cheekbones as a highlight colour but I love swirling all the shades together to create a beautiful blush colour which is perfect for spring as it makes your skin look so dewy and lovely. The pigmentation is incredible and it's so easy to go overboard which makes you look like you've fallen face first into a pit of shimmer so be careful not to over-apply! I did actually do a full review here if you want to have a look.

A lipgloss favourite this month is the Maybelline Color Elixir in Rose Redefined, it's the shade I've worn nearly everyday at school this month and it just makes you look so much more put together and ready for the day. It's such a pretty pink colour that looks so natural on the lips. It's so much better to wear a lipgloss to school rather than a lipstick because it's much less noticeable and you don't look like you've tried too hard.

I wasn't sure whether to put this in my favourites but it's my iPhone 6. I got this phone at the end of March and I've been loving it, I did have an iPhone 4s but after having it just over two years it was just so slow and the battery was rubbish and it kept freezing and restarting so it was just time to get a new one. The 6 just feels so nice and light compared to the 4s and it's so much thinner. I got it in the white and gold colour and it's just so beautiful, I don't think I've loved a phone this much!

The Liebster Award #1

I've been nominated a few times now for this tag, so I thought it was about time to finally answer some questions and nominate a few people. If you didn't know The Liebster Award is a tag for bloggers who have under 200 followers on Bloglovin. Once you've been nominated you have to answer 11 questions from the person who nominated you and then nominate blogs with under 200 followers and ask them 11 questions. Since I've been nominated about 3 times I do have 33 different questions to answer so I'm going to do this in 3 parts otherwise this blogpost would be so long! This post is the nomination from essehearts.

QUESTIONS

1. What and/or who inspires you?
Zoe Sugg, she started off as a blogger like me, and probably like you reading this, but now look at her, she's come so so far and has just reached 8 million subscribers on YouTube, now that is crazy! If I even got half the opportunities she has had then I would be incredibly happy.

2. Who is your favourite actor/actress?
I have so many favourite actors/actresses so I'll talk about a few, starting off with Blake Lively, I loved her in Gossip Girl, Serena was my favourite character by far. I am literally in love with Ashley Benson and Shay Mitchell, both are incredibly beautiful women and are definitely friendship goals!

3. What do you enjoy most about blogging?
There's two things; the blogging community is the first, everyone is just so unbelievably kind and supportive, the second is having your own space in which you can express your views and opinions and share with people everything that interests you.

4. What is your most memorable moment?
There is not one specific moment in my life that I can remember, there are obviously lots of things but none of them are more memorable than any others.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be?
I would definitely love to live in New York one day, I have never been but I know that living in New York would be incredible. I think it's such a stunning city. I don't think I'd ever move out there though because I don't think I'd be able to afford to fly home every weekend to go to watch the football (I'm obsessed haha)

6. What are three things you cannot live without?
My phone obviously, football and food.

7. If you could be any Disney princess, who would you be?
It would have to be Belle, I'm not sure why but I just love her and Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney film.

8. Favourite TV series?
Pretty Little Liars, there's no question about it. It's the only series I've watched throughout more than 3 times!

9. When/why did you start blogging?
I started blogging at the beginning of 2015, I had done it last year but I stopped and then I decided to re-start it and I'm loving it way more this time round.

10. If you could meet anyone, who would it be?
I think it would be Liam Payne, I love every member of One Direction but if it was only one person it would be him. There is not enough time to explain why but I'm sure if you're a Liam girl you'll get it!

11. Describe yourself in three words
Quiet but loud, does that make sense? Probably not but I think I'm quite quiet when I first meet someone but then I get used to that person and I won't shut up haha!

Blushing Hearts | Review

Just over a month ago now I placed an order on the Superdrug website and I ordered one of the blushing hearts, and a couple of other Makeup Revolution products. The blushing heart I chose was the one called Peachy Pink Kisses because I thought it looked the easiest to wear and most natural shade. I think this colour is the perfect blush shade for the spring/summer months as its glowy and I prefer to wear more peachy-pink shades during this time of year.

The actual product itself feels so soft and light on the skin without mentioning the pigmentation, which is incredible by the way! It's so easy to put too much of this product onto your face so you need to make sure you apply this with a light hand so you don't overdo it. The main thing that drew me towards this is the amount of people who have been saying this is a dupe for the Too Faced Sweetheart Blushes, now I don't have any Too Faced products nor have I tried them so I can't really say but the packaging is almost the same just branded with a different name. The Too Faced Blushes are £22 each and the Makeup Revolution ones are just £4.99 each. I don't know about you but I know I would rather get 4 of the Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts than just 1 Too Faced one! The only reason I haven't got any more is because I don't have enough space, I am in serious need of the Ikea Alex drawers!

Lipsticks For Spring

Since spring is officially here I thought I would gather my go-to lipsticks for the spring time. I haven't included any nudes or baby pinks because I wanted it to be about the bright colours rather than the more neutral ones.

So my first go-to lipstick for spring/summer is by Mac and it's in the shade Saigon Summer. This is such a beautiful orange colour and when I first got it I thought it was such a daunting colour because I had never owned or tried a colour like this but the more I wore it the more confident I felt wearing this and I just love it a lot.

The next shade is Makeup Revolution's lipstick in the shade Mystify. I ordered this online so I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not but when I opened it I was pleasantly surprised because it's a really pretty pink colour. I've not had it that long but I knew instantly that it needed to feature in a spring lipsticks because I know I'll be wearing this quite a bit this year.

Another orange colour but this one is slightly darker than Mac Saigon Summer. It's by Revlon and it's in the colour Kiss Me Coral. I probably wear this the most out of all the ones mentioned because it's just the most perfect orange that compliments my skin tone. The only reason I picked this up was because there was a 3 for 2 offer and I couldn't find anything else but I'm glad I got this because I love it.

Last up is by L'Oreal in the colour Julianne's Red, I really like this red for spring time because it's quite a bright red rather than the darker reds that I usually go for in autumn/winter. I've seen a few people talk about this and they say that it's a dupe for Mac's Ruby Woo but I've never tried it so I don't really know but I love the colour.

What's In My Bag #1

I carry quite a lot in my bag, so I thought I'd write a post telling you what I keep in my bag. I have 3 notebooks, sounds crazy but each one is for different things. They all came in a set together from Cath Kidston and I just think they have such cute prints on them. I also carry around a couple of fragrances, a vanilla scented body spray and a Next perfume which I got for my birthday. I also have my trusty hand food, I cannot go anywhere without this, I love it! Then obviously I have my purse which I bought from Cath Kidston a couple of years ago, it was in the sale and was from £32 I think down to about £10 which is so good. Then I have my sunglasses, I got them from Urban Outfitters last summer and they are beautiful, I always carry around a pair of sunnies even in the winter because you never know when the sun will come out and there's nothing worse than needing sunglasses and not having any with you. That's all I have photographed but I do also carry round a tangle teezer, my makeup bag, headphones, hand gel, my portable phone charger and obviously my phone. I do also have a stash of mints and chewing gum because I cannot go anywhere without them!

Gimme Brow vs Brow This Way

Not long ago I bought the Rimmel Brow This Way because I didn't want to run out of my Benefit Gimme Brow as I was using it everyday and I don't want to pay nearly £20 for a replacement so I went on search for the perfect dupe and I came across the Brow This Way.

Both products are so similar and are both packaged in similar style tubes with the Brow This Way being slightly larger. You only get 3ml of product in the Gimme Brow whereas you get 5ml in the Brow This Way which is nearly double for a fraction of the price. I really like the colour pay off of the Brow This Way but it's not quite as perfect a colour as the Gimme Brow but since it is so cheap I'm not really too bothered.

The texture of both products are slightly different with Gimme Brow having the small fibres which help you fill in the gaps in your brows. The Brow This Way does not have any fibres in it but it still does the job and fills in my brows perfectly fine. I feel that they both last about the same amount of time on my eyebrows and they do both last a while which is great.

The brushes couldn't be more different. The Gimme Brow has a tiny brush which I find is the perfect size for my eyebrows although you do get quite a lot of build up on the end of the brush which sometimes makes me accidently apply too much product. Brow This Way has a significantly larger brush which is a little smaller than a tester mascara which is slightly too large for my brows but I work with it and still manage to create a natural looking brow.

Overall I am very impressed with the Brow This Way and you can barely tell the difference between the products. I think in the future I will be using my Gimme Brow sparingly and using my Brow This Way as an everyday product as it's a lot cheaper and basically gives the same results!

Benefit Rollerlash
Benefit Gimme Brow

Makeup Revolution | First Impression

I'm pretty sure every blogger has featured a Makeup Revolution product on their blog before but I on the other hand have never tried any of their products. I'm not sure why because everyone loves them and their products always get such good reviews, also not to mention that they're so cheap! The only product I couldn't get was the blush palette in Golden Sugar because it was out of stock in Superdrug  which is a bummer because the shades look so bloody gorgeous!

Every blog I have read has at least one palette from Makeup Revolution and the most popular ones seemed to be the Iconic 1,2&3 and The Essential Shimmers palette so I decided the first ones I should try out would be the Iconic 3 and the Essential Shimmers palettes. I haven't used many of the colours yet as I've only had them for a week but I have swatched them all and they all feel so nice and they're so pigmented! All the colours in these palettes are so easy to wear and I'm excited to try them properly!

Next I wanted to try a lipstick because they're only £1 and I love lipsticks and I can't get enough! I went for the lipstick in the shade Mystify because online it looked like a nice pink colour and now we're into spring I want to start wearing some brighter pinks and oranges etc. I've only worn it once but I love the colour and it's one that I think I'll be wearing quite often throughout summer.

I think these are a fairly new release but the Blushing Heart's really caught my eye, I think it's mainly because they are meant to be a dupe for the Too Faced Sweetheart Blushes, so I picked up the shade Peachy Pink Kisses which I thought would be the perfect colour for spring and I really love it, it's so pigmented and shimmery which I love because I'm loving the dewy skin look right now! I will definitely be buying a few of the other shades!

The last thing I got was the Blush Palette in Hot Spice, I'm not that into blushers so I'm quite surprised that I chose something like this but I want to get into liking blushers more so I thought I'd just get some. I haven't tried them yet but I've opened the palette and I really like the colours and again the pigmentation is incredible!

I have definitely become a fan of Makeup Revolution and I think I'll be making another purchase very soon! I can't believe I had never tried them before, it's crazy!

April Wishlist

It is April, whaaaaat?! This year is going way too fast, I can't even keep up! Here is my April Wishlist for you, it's quite a girly one this.

First up is the Glam Guide by Fleur De Force, I know this came out a while ago but I just haven't got around to buying it yet as every time I've had money there's always been other things that I have wanted. From what I've seen of it so far this book looks amazing, I remember watching Fleur vlogging when writing this book and the amount of effort put into this book is incredible! Also doesn't the cover look so pretty?!

Another thing I am lusting is the Chloe perfume by Chloe, everytime I go into a store that sells perfume I always spray this on me because it's one of the best smells I have ever smelt! It always lasted so long on my skin and I could always smell on my hours after I'd sprayed it in the shop, I just can't justify spending so much on a perfume though, however nice it is!

Next is the Zoeva Rose Gold Brush Set with the pink handles, I've yet to try any Zoeva brushes but I would love to because they look so nice, especially these new ones with the pink handles, they just look so pretty and feminine. They seem good value for money but I don't want to spend £55 all at once because I can't afford it.

The Tarte Tartelette Palette is so gorgeous, I am in love. I'm usually a shimmery eye shadow girl but recently I have been loving matte so this palette being completely matte is perfect. Every single shadow looks so pretty and wearable and just my sort of thing so I really really want to try this out!

Another beautiful product is the Smashbox Baked Fusion Soft Lights in Baked Starburst, it sort of reminds me of a similar Soap and Glory product but nicer colours. I love the champagne/bronze colours that this is based on and if I had this I would wear it non-stop because it is so beautiful, I just can't even deal with how much I am lusting this!
